CHRISTMAS MOVIE: ELF
THE ARROWWOOD7:30 PM – 9:30 PM
Elf tells the heartwarming and hilarious story of Buddy, a human who was mistakenly raised as an elf in Santa’s workshop at the North Pole. When Buddy, now a fully-grown man, discovers his true identity, he sets off on an epic journey to New York City to find his biological father, Walter Hobbs, a cynical children’s book publisher on Santa’s “naughty” list. Ignorant of human customs and big-city life, Buddy’s high-spirited, candy-cane-fueled nature clashes dramatically with Walter’s materialistic, busy world, leading to a series of comedic misadventures as Buddy attempts to bond with his newfound family—including his skeptical father and half-brother, Michael.
Buddy’s pure, childlike belief in Christmas spirit gradually begins to thaw the cold hearts of those around him, especially when he takes a job at Gimbel’s department store and meets Jovie, a disillusioned employee who catches his eye. However, as Walter’s business and family life become increasingly complicated by Buddy’s presence, the city’s Christmas cheer begins to fade, threatening Santa’s ability to fly. Buddy must ultimately use his unique North Pole skills and unwavering faith to help his father rediscover the true meaning of Christmas, save the holiday for everyone, and finally find a place where he truly belongs.
